An Explanation of the Honor Code
Honor is defined as moral integrity. It is an ideal and an obligation. It is that part of the human spirit that is imperative for meaningful relationships between people. The Honor Code is necessary for the personal development of the student and to the overall goals of the school. Imperative in an Honor System are the principles of community and humility. Community, as it relates to Christ Academy, is a group of people who share common goals and values in which students aspire to grow intellectually, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Humility precedes honor as the source of encouragement and accountability. The Honor Code creates an atmosphere of mutual reliability and trust. It is a trust that should be protected, inherited, and passed on by each class of students, not as a rigidly codified legacy, but as one that is constantly nurtured and re-examined. Each student is considered to be a guardian of the Honor Code and should seek to abide by its principles throughout life as a personal statement of appropriate conduct. |
The Honor Code
- Students will do their own work.
- Students will tell the truth.
- Students will respect the property of others.
- Students will help others to maintain these standards.
